Content Strategy

Web design should begin and end with what users need. By using analytics and user-centered design principles I can take a good page and make it great. As a content strategist, it is important for me to not only create or update what is on the webpage, but create governance and maintainance plans to keep them that way.

My web design principles:

  • Data from analytics, user testing and surveys guides the process
  • Clean designs help guide page visitors
  • Write in Plain Talk to make it easy to scan, even if the audience is full of experts on the topic
  • Know every single document, image and piece of text you own

The tools I love to use:

  • HTML and XHTML
  • CSS
  • SQL Server
  • WordPress.org and .com
  • Google Analytics
  • Crazy Egg
  • Site Improve
  • Adobe Dreamweaver, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Publisher)
